Bunco!

This month features the fast-paced dice game Bunco. Bunco is similar to Yahtzee and played in teams of two. Sign up with a friend or we will match players on game night. Pop and light snacks will be provided and there will be prizes (fuzzy dice, yay!).

For ages 13-18. Registration is required, you can register at the Youth Information desk or by calling the library. Come join the fun!

Bookmark ContestBookmark Design Contest

March has become known as reading month. What could be better than a whole month devoted to books? It also means it's time for the Roseville Public Library's annual bookmark contest. Our theme this year is Community's thrive @ your library. The winning bookmarks will be printed in color and distributed in the Library. Stop by the Youth Services Area for bookmarks from prior contests and an application for the contest or download one here.

Reading 101 Reading 101 for teens

Parents who would like to help their teen develop or enhance reading skills might like to encourage  the use of audiobooks combined with printed text. Whether it's due to learning disabilities such as dyxlexia or just a reluctant reader, listening to an audiobook in conjunction with the written text can enhance the reading experience. It can help improve reading and comprehension skills as well as strengthen spelling skills and increase the vocabulary.

We had our first meeting so look for our upcoming issue of The Shelving Unit, our teen newsletter. If you like to write and would like to review music, websites, books, etc. call Miss Busch for more information or if you plan to attend the next TAG meeting.

Did You Know?

The library has games for the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2 that can be checked out? You are limited to one game at a time, and the check-out period is for one week. You can not put a hold on the games through the library catalog. It's a small collection -- but it's good!
